the heather says swish.

The swing creaked every time he swung forward or back. It was a little eerie, in the park's shadows, and a little comforting - so reminiscent of elementary school days he didn't remember at all.
He closed his eyes and was a corpse hanging from a gibbet, half rotting. His grinning skull turned around and he opened his eyes. Whatever family lived in the house across from the swing set had left their blind open. He could see them eating dinner, so late.
He closed his eyes again and strange men with blanked out faces approached him from behind with hatchets. With wide-open eyes, the family was still at their dinner. One of them was gesturing wildly, smiling.
He got up off the swings. He felt sick.
